March 8-12, 2011 the Tuscarawas County Center for the Arts hosted the third annual Art from the Heart gallery show featuring art created by individuals who participate in our adult programs. If you had the opportunity to walk through the show, you know what I mean. If not, you missed some creative works.
The pieces were available for sale during a reception on March 12th. TCBDD purchased several larger pieces the will be displayed in the new Service and Support Center. Art will also be available for sale in that space when once it opens. TCBDD also was privileged to purchase additional pieces after the sale and to give those pieces as awards at the Community Awards Luncheon that recognizes community members and organizaitons for outstanding efforts on behalf of individuals with disabilities. Award recipients were universally delighted and several asked if they could purchase additional art from the artist who created their specific piece.
