TuscBDD Recognizes Retiring Board Member, Stephanie Wilson

New Philadelphia, December 9, 2022: At the November 2022 regularly scheduled Board meeting for the Tuscarawas County Board of Developmental Disabilities (TuscBDD), Board and staff members celebrated long-time Board member, Stephanie Wilson, LPCC-S, LICD-CS, as she completed her twelfth year on the TuscBDD Board and concluded her term volunteering in this capacity.

Mrs. Wilson began her collaboration with the Board on a grant to educate first responders, mental health workers, and educators. “Around 2006, I recognized a need for education and collaboration for individuals served by both the mental health board and the board of DD,” shared Mrs. Wilson. “The goal of the grant was to learn about each system and how to work collaboratively to better serve individuals in crisis.” She then served on the TuscBDD Human Rights Committee for several years before she was appointed by the Tuscarawas County Commissioners in 2011 to serve as a TuscBDD Board member. Additionally, Mrs. Wilson currently serves on the Ohio Association of County Boards of Developmental Disabilities (OACB) Board of Trustees, representing Tuscarawas County at the state level.

During Mrs. Wilson’s 25 years of service in the mental health field, she provided individual and group mental health and substance abuse services, provided and supervised crisis services, and she now serves as the Director of Clinical Services at Heartland Behavioral Healthcare. “Stephanie’s expertise in the mental health field is a great asset to our community,” expressed TuscBDD Superintendent, Nate Kamban. “Stephanie led the Board with great compassion and knowledge, and she was a part of many great first steps for the Board. We deeply appreciate all that she has done for people in our community.”
