Making Strides at Starlight

Our son, Banks, got involved in Early Intervention when he was around 4 months old. He had low muscle tone, developmental delay, and macrocephaly, but no major diagnosis that explained the smaller diagnoses. Early Intervention/Help Me Grow benefitted Banks tremendously, and when he transitioned out of Early Intervention at 3 years old, it was difficult to say good-bye to the wonderful therapists and people that had worked with him over the years.

In fall of 2015, when Banks was 4 1/2 years old, he began preschool at Starlight. This was a big step for him and for us, but we have seen how beneficial it has been for him. About a month after he began school, we received a video text from his PT of him walking for the first time! He loves interacting with the other children, and seems to really love it there. We truly believe that Starlight is the best place that Banks could be right now . . . the school and the people (teachers, aids, therapists, etc.) have been a huge blessing to Banks and our family. We're excited to watch the progress Banks will continue to make there!
