In Plain Sight - Starlight School Blog

The therapy departments have teamed up to provide a fun and interactive school wide game. The game is to bring awareness to the students and staff allowing them to practice a wide variety of therapy skills. The contest ran for four weeks starting:

April 18 – April 29, 2016 to honor Occupational Therapy Month
May 2 – May 13, 2016 to honor Speech Therapy Month

The object of the game is for our students to go on a lizard/frog hunt as they are hidden daily throughout the school. Once a lizard/frog has been found the teacher will capture a picture of the students practicing the therapy skill listed on the back of the lizard/frog. (i.e. handwriting, using technology, self calming skills). The picture will then be displayed on the bulletin board outside the front office. At the end of each contest, the pictures will be tallied and the classroom with the most will be awarded a basket of goodies related to Occupational & Speech Therapy.
