Health & Welfare Alert: Preventing the Flu

Periodically, the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities (DODD) posts health and welfare alerts. These helpful documents are designed to aid families and caregivers identify risk factors in their loved ones.

The purpose of this Alert is to encourage all individuals and caregivers to be vaccinated for the flu. The single best way to protect against the Flu is to get vaccinated each fall. Note: The flu season can begin as early as October and last as late as May and typically peaks in January or February. Vaccinations should occur as soon as possible, ideally in October. Routine annual vaccination is recommended for all persons 6 months and older. Please click here to access this full alert.

All Health and Welfare Alerts are posted on DODD's website so individuals, families, providers, and County Boards can easily access them at any time.
