PRESS RELEASE

State Representative Al Landis Meets Local Artist at TuscBDD

New Philadelphia, June 21, 2017: On Monday morning House District 98-State Representative, Al Landis stopped by the Tuscarawas County Board of Developmental Disabilities in New Philadelphia to meet artist, Terry McNutt after obtaining his painting that was created in collaboration with Randy "JR" Grimm at Starlight Enterprises, INC several years ago. McNutt and Grimm joined forces to create a unique, flower painting full of beautiful royal blue and vibrant red strokes. Mcnutt was happy to have one of his paintings travel to the state capitol to be hung in the halls of Representative Landis' office in Columbus, Ohio.

"This painting will be seen by many Tuscarawas County residents that come to visit the Statehouse as well as many others visiting for business" stated Representative Landis. "This is making my Monday...getting to meet the artist and checking out the SEI Art House!" This big achievement comes as a humble surprise to McNutt who shares "I create the entire piece of art. I frame it and attach and stretch the canvas too." McNutt, who was joined by Tracy Aubihl of SEI, plan to give Representative Landis a tour of the SEI Art on High art house later in the day. Grimm was unable to attend the meeting and tour.

McNutt and Grimm work together at Person Centered Services, an agency focused on providing and coordinating person centered opportunities for meaningful integrated vocational, volunteer, educational, recreational, social, and leisure activities for individuals with disabilities to enhance individual career opportunities. Mcnutt enjoys woodworking and multi-textile projects as well as painting. He is currently working on a large, decorative wishing well. Art and other projects can be purchased through Starlight Enterprises, INC. at 236 East High Avenue, New Philadelphia, OH 44663.

"Getting the community involved in buying local and supporting local citizens with developmental disabilities in their endeavors is something the Board along with other local agencies has been working toward with stores such as SEI Art on High and TuscBDD's Charmed store." expressed Chris Sapp, TuscBDD's Community Connections Specialist. "Seeing the hard work of the Board and local agencies come together in order to provide citizens in our community with the tools they need to reach their goals is rewarding!"
