TuscBDD Superintendent, Kellie Brown Celebrates her Tenure in Tuscarawas County at Board Meeting

New Philadelphia, June 26, 2017: At the June 2017 regularly scheduled board meeting for the Tuscarawas County Board of Developmental Disabilities (TuscBDD), board members and staff recognized the great efforts put forth by Kellie Brown who has served as TuscBDD Board's Superintendent since July of 2015. As of July 1st, Brown will have reached the end of her contract and Nate Kamban will fill the role of Superintendent. For the last year, Brown has provided TuscBDD with excellent guidance and leadership as it transitioned and reorganized due to Federal and State mandates.


"Kellie has been a great mentor to me for the last year," shared Nate Kamban, TuscBDD's Transitional Superintendent. "I have learned so much from her, and I value her time spent here to further TuscBDD's vision of enhancing the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities. Tuscarawas County has been lucky to have her as a leader, and we appreciate her efforts."
During the meeting, Brown thanked TuscBDD staff and board members for the opportunity to assist the agency during the transition. "I wasn't sure where this adventure would take me, but I knew I was here for a reason" expressed Brown. "I know Nate will do a great job!"


Some other decisions made from the June board meeting include the following:
• Community Relations/Special Projects Coordinator Position Description Revision was approved.
• Donations were accepted from the following: Royal Arch Masons, Tuscarawas Chapter #38 to TuscBDD for Special Olympics, Charmed: Gifts with Meaning from the sale of snacks designated for Special Olympics, and Giant Eagle's Apples for the Students program to the Starlight School.


The next board meeting is scheduled for Monday, July 17th at 5:30 PM. This meeting will take place at TuscBDD's Service and Support Center located at 610 Commercial Ave. SW in New Philadelphia.
