TuscBDD Announces Events for DD Awareness Month

 New Philadelphia, January 16, 2025: In honor of Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month, the Tuscarawas County Board of Developmental Disabilities (TuscBDD) is thrilled to announce a series of events and initiatives to celebrate the beauty and diversity of people within our community.

 All March Long - Celebrate the Beauty of Diverse Lives Photo Exhibition

In celebration of DD Awareness Month, TuscBBD is hosting a photo contest and exhibition with the Tuscarawas County Public Library. The showcase, featuring submitted photos celebrating the beauty of diverse lives, will be displayed throughout March at TCPL Main in New Philadelphia.

 2/6/25 Celebrate the Beauty of Diverse Lives Photo Contest Ceremony

There will be three contest categories: Adult, Youth, and Ally. The TCPL panel will select a winner for each category. Winners will be honored during a ceremony hosted by TuscBDD and TCPL on February 6, 2025, at 11 a.m. at the Tuscarawas County Public Library.  3/4/25 Ohio Statehouse Day for DD Awareness Month

Every March, hundreds of advocates gather at the Ohio Statehouse in Columbus to champion issues that matter to Ohioans living with developmental disabilities. To visit Columbus, connect with representatives, and network with the developmental disabilities community, register for this event online at the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities website.

 3/5/25 DD Awareness Month Proclamation Signing

TuscBDD, advocates, and commissioners will gather at the courthouse to read and sign the proclamation for the 2025 Tuscarawas County Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month. If you are interested in attending, please let us know.

 All March Long -TuscBDD FANS Network Book Blast

The TuscBDD FANS Network is partnering with the Autism Society of Ohio to donate and read books about acceptance and inclusivity to grade schools in Tuscarawas County. To learn more about the initiative, volunteer, read to students, or get involved, contact Nicole via email at Fans@tuscbdd.org.

 3/27/25 TuscBDD Community Partners Pancake Breakfast & Better Together Awards

Join TuscBDD at the Tuscora Park Dining Hall in New Philadelphia on March 27th for a Community Partners Pancake Breakfast from 7:30-9:00 am. The event will feature the Better Together Awards Ceremony, recognizing community partners and families supported by TuscBDD.
