TuscBDD Celebrates, and County Commissioners Declare March as Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month
On March 6, 2019 the Tuscarawas County Commissioners declared March as Developmental Disabilities Awareness month. This month is important because it is a designated time when TuscBDD can create awareness and recognize the many contributions that people with disabilities bring to our community. It’s also a time when people with disabilities can share their stories and show that they are living successful lives. TuscBDD asks everyone in the community to join in celebrating victories, advocating for inclusion, and encouraging awareness! If you would like an opportunity to celebrate Developmental Disabilities Awareness month, please stop by one of TuscBDD’s awareness events:
March 16 - STEAM Popup Museum (sensory friendly): Admission is free
10:00 am to 2:00 pm at Charmed: Gifts with Meaning in New Philadelphia
TuscBDD and STEAM Centers are happy to present a sensory friendly, interactive day of fun for the whole family with a STEAM Pop-up Museum. For more information, call Teri at 330.339.3199.
March 26 - Community Basketball Game: Admission is free
6:00 pm at Central Catholic High School in New Philadelphia
Special Olympics athletes and community members pair up for a basketball game to remember! To be registered for a team, please contact Chris Sapp by emailing csapp@tuscbdd.org or calling 330-339-9769 no later
than March 20th. Can’t play? Come watch and cheer on the athletes!
March 28 - Community Partners Pancake Breakfast: Admission is free
7:30am to 9:00am with breakfast being served by TuscBDD staff and friends at 7:45am at the

All month long - Library Display at the Tuscarawas County Public Library (Main)
The lower level hallway and display cases are decorated at the New Philadelphia Public Library for the month of March in celebration of Developmental Disabilities Awareness and Advocacy Month. Crafts, Art pieces, and
Charmed Intern stories will be on display from March 1 until March 29.
