TuscBDD Shares Story Of Mecca Moulton

New Philadelphia, June 4th, 2026 - TuscBDD Employment Navigation services connect people with careers that suit their interests. We believe in meaningful work experiences and greater opportunities to increase incomes, advance careers, and promote choice. “We start with exploring the person’s interests, then work with other agencies to provide on-the-job-training and support throughout the duration of their employment,” said Lou Paris, TuscBDD SSA Employment Navigator. “Helping people to understand how community and careers go hand in hand is essential. Currently over 80 people we serve are successfully working in Tuscarawas County.”

The TuscBDD team sat down with a local employer and a recent hire who utilizes TuscBDD Employment Navigation services. Mecca Moulton (37) has been working at Dutch Valley Restaurant as a dish washer for a few months now. We were excited to learn that not only does Mecca really enjoy her job, but her coworkers really enjoy working with her! “Dutch Valley Restaurant is extremely supportive in hiring many of the people we serve. When needed, they have also worked with employees to establish a tailored position that gives the person the best chance to succeed while also fulfilling the needs of the restaurant,” expressed Paris.

The ultimate goal of TuscBDD Employment Navigation is to help people find work they enjoy at a place where they can connect with others. “We work with several companies around the area that utilize our services and hire people with developmental disabilities. If a company is looking to hire, I urge them to reach out to us because we have people looking for employment all the time.”

While she has worked in various other sectors, Mecca says that she has found the most satisfaction at Dutch Valley. It’s a job that makes her feel proud to be a part of the team. Outside of work, Mecca’s hobbies include painting and spending time with her family. She is surrounded by people who care about her, including her new fiancé. They are currently saving up and seeking their own home. With the wedding planned for July 2027, we want to congratulate the happy couple and wish them the best!
