New Pen Pals Program

National Letter Writing Day Sparks New Pen Pals Program

With National Letter Writing Day right around the corner (December 7), the FANS (Family, Allies, Neighbors) Network is developing a pen pals program. TuscBDD provides services in the community for people from birth through the end of life, and the pen pal program invites all ages to get involved this winter and make a new friend. In addition to connecting with others, becoming a pen pal is a great opportunity to improve writing and vocabulary, share art and self-expression, practice fine motor skills, and so much more! Both individuals and groups are welcome to join.

Groups can mail one item together or members can be paired individually with other writers. Participants are encouraged to share a note about themselves, a poem or joke, or even a piece of art. Creativity is welcome! Exchanges can be weekly or monthly- depending on the correspondents’ preferred frequency.

Several groups have been contacted and the FANS Network is excited to start matching pen pals. If a person or group would like to participate, please contact Nicole Donant-Moore by phone at 330-407-0950 or by email at fans@tuscbdd.org.
